Venturing again into the land of the Penguin...
Over the past few years, I've dabbled in the world of Linux on and off - sometimes more seriously than others. It is quite freeing to be able to pick and choose between different distributions, software packages, etc without having to think about the cost. As I've moved to a high-speed cable connection, the lure of the penguin has gotten even greater. Now I can download 3 or 4 install discs in a matter of an hour or two - as opposed to 2 or 3 weeks with dial-up!!

So, I'm at it again. I have a new laptop - actually a Tablet PC from Acer - and my old laptop is now an opportunity to play! So tonight I downloaded RedHat 9 and installed it on my HP Pavilion N5415 with a Duron 900MHz CPU and 256MB of RAM. The install went smoothly, took about 30 minutes and I was online after about 10 minutes of configuring settings. I am typing this post from my new RedHat Linux notebook.. not bad for an hour of installing and configuring!

We'll see if the grip of the penguin holds this time...

It's been a long time!
I've been away from my blog world here for quite a while. No specific reason, other than life happens...

I've been busy with family, ministry and getting my business, Bennett's Bytes, up and running. So, for all the time I've spent in front of the computer, I haven't had much time to blog. I have been having a blast building computers, setting up networks and am in the process of building a website for a local condominium development.

Hopefully I can back in the blog swing of things. For those of you who have waited patiently... get a life! I mean, thanks for waiting!
